Rakesh Bikram Shahi was born in 1995 in Kohalpur, Nepal. He has focused on visual storytelling since an early age. In 2018, he moved to Japan after receiving a scholarship from The Asahi Shimbun. He began his studies at KEN School of Japanese Language in October 2019 and completed a two year language program. In April 2020, he entered Tokyo Visual Arts College and specialized in fashion photography.

In 2022, his graduation project, a photobook titled Sati, received the Grand Prix. It marked a key point in his creative work. In 2023, his series The Journey of Suffering And Awakening was nominated for the 2nd Fugensha Photo Award. This recognition strengthened his interest in emotional and cultural themes.

In 2024, he joined Didi Ltd. as a photographer and art director. He continued to grow through collaboration and creative leadership. He became independent in 2025 and started working as a freelance photographer. He is based in Tokyo and works as a freelance fashion photographer and art director. He collaborates with fashion brands, models, and creative teams on visual projects.

ラケス ビクラム シャヒは、1995年にネパールのコハルプルで生まれた。幼い頃から視覚表現に強い関心を持ってきた。2018年に朝日新聞の奨学金を受け、日本へ移住した。2019年10月にKEN日本語学校に入学し、2年間の日本語課程を修了した。2020年4月に東京ビジュアルアーツ専門学校へ進学し、ファッション写真を専攻した。

2022年には、卒業制作の写真集「Sati」がグランプリを受賞した。これは彼の創作活動における重要な一歩となった。2023年には、「The Journey of Suffering And Awakening」が第2回冨源社写真賞にノミネートされた。この経験は、感情と文化を扱う作品への関心をさらに強めた。

2024年にDidi Ltd.へフォトグラファー兼アートディレクターとして参加した。協働と創造的な取り組みを通して成長を続けた。2025年に独立し、フリーランスフォトグラファーとして活動を始めた。現在は東京を拠点に、ファッションフォトグラファー兼アートディレクターとして活動している。ファッションブランドやモデル、クリエイティブチームと共に、幅広いビジュアル制作に取り組んでいる。
