Rakesh started his photography journey at a young age, experimenting with his father's vintage film camera, and that early fascination developed into a profound passion for the art form.
In 2018, he was the recipient of the ASA scholarship from the Asahi Shimbun, which took him to Japan to pursue his dream of becoming a fashion photographer. He began learning Japanese at KEN School of Japanese Language, finishing the program in 2020. Later that year, in April, he commenced his studies at Tokyo Visual Arts Academy, with a focus on Fashion Photography.
He graduated in March 2022, and his two significant projects, "SATI: A Story of a Widow's Sacrifice" and "The Journey of Suffering and Awakening," earned him the Grand Prix award that same year.
After graduating, he spent a year at DIDI Ltd working as both a photographer and art director. In 2024, he joined SOI Management, continuing to work in the roles of photographer and art director, which he still holds today.
