Rakesh started his photography journey at an early age, experimenting with his father's old film camera, and this initial interest blossomed into a profound love for the art form. In 2018, he received the ASA scholarship from the Asahi Shimbun and moved to Japan to become a fashion photographer. He completed Japanese language studies at KEN School in 2020, then enrolled at Tokyo Visual Arts Academy to study Fashion Photography that same year.

He graduated in March 2022. His projects "SATI: A Story of a Widow's Sacrifice" and "The Journey of Suffering and Awakening" earned him the Grand Prix award. After completing his studies, he worked at DIDI Ltd as a photographer and art director, then joined SOI Management in 2024, where he continues to work in both roles today.

He works across editorial photography, art direction, and casting, combining technical precision with strong visual concepts. As an art director, he leads creative direction from mood boards through styling and casting to the final image. He partners with clients across Japan and Nepal on campaigns, editorial shoots, lookbooks, runway shows, and model portfolio development.
